If the signal candlestick is at least one pip outside the parent one, then it will no longer be an inside bar. This defines a more extended consolidation period that can possibly lead to a stronger breakout. However, it isn\u2019t a setup that occurs often, at least not in a favorable context. This is why I don\u2019t advocate using the inside bar as your only setup to trade the market. By doing so, you limit your trade potential to the point that you are likely to begin taking subpar setups. It is, therefore, important to treat inside bars as another tool inside your trading toolbox rather than the toolbox itself.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"toc-2\">How to Trade the Inside Bar Pattern<\/h2>\n<p>See the ratio of the price range of the mother candle and the inside bar. If the mother candle is large, it is recommended to look for reversal trades. There must be a directional move before the pattern appears. When trading intraday, you should trade in the American session. You should not trade if the inside bar has long shadows \u2013 doji or pinbar.<\/p>\n<p>This is a standard Inside Bar candle where the range of the candle is small, and it\u2019s \u201ccovered\u201d by the prior candle. That may sound obvious, but many traders are so eager to enter a trade, that they don&#8217;t spend a few extra seconds examining the strength of the trend. On a bar chart an inside bar is a single bar which is smaller than the previous one and within the range of the highest price and lowest price of the last price bar. Psychology does really play a part (and a major one!) and traders must really emphasise on that as opposed to jumping from one trading strategy to another. It is all about the PATIENCE and the ability to restrain yourself from taking every other trade that comes your way. It is probably one of the least talked about candlestick patterns and probably the one that is most underestimated and least understood, as well. If the inside bar is a doji or a pin bar, it should not be considered for entering the market.<\/p>\n<p>Again, this assumes that you are placing your stop <a href=\"https:\/\/forexhero.info\/inside-bar-forex-trading-strategy\/\">inside bar trading strategy<\/a> above the high of the inside bar rather than the high of the mother bar. The inside bars in the chart above formed on the GBPJPY daily chart in a choppy market. This sideways price action represents consolidation, which is what you want to avoid when evaluating an inside bar setup. First and foremost, the time frame you use to trade inside bars is extremely important. As a general rule, any time frame less than the daily should be avoided with this strategy. This is because the lower time frames are influenced by \u201cnoise\u201d and therefore produce false signals.<\/p>\n<p>Formation of inside bar pattern after the breakout of trendline works best and this breakout strategy gives profitable results. Identify an inside bar candlestick after support\/resistance zone breakout. Keep in mind that the breakout candlestick must be a mother candlestick and it must have big body and small wicks. This inside bar strategy is based on the fact that price decides its direction from key levels. But if there is an inside bar at the key level then it will make it easy to forecast the direction of the market. There\u2019s no doubt that inside bars can be a profitable way to trade the Forex market.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"toc-4\">Support and Resistance Levels Trading Strategy<\/h2>\n<p>But before we do that, let\u2019s first take a look at how an inside bar forms and what the pattern represents. It also helps when the mother bar has the highest high or lowest low at the support\/resistance level. There are limitations to almost every indicator, and those specific to the InSide Bar Strategy would be choosing to trade the breakout of the indicator. Below is a great example of a bullish inside bar that formed on the USDCAD daily time frame. This is actually a trade setup that was called here at Daily Price Action and has worked out beautifully thus far.<\/p>\n<p>As you can see, there were several large back-and-forth bars before this Inside Bar printed. The way that many traders use this type of Inside Bar is to enter on a break above or below the Inside Bar. As you probably know, when price action starts to consolidate, it usually means that there will be a breakout. You can enter using a stop order when the price breaks out of the Inside Bar. Then, traders would look to go short on the break of the Inside Bar.<\/p>\n<p>The reason being is that when trading breakouts you are anticipating a future move, as opposed to reading the market. I am not saying that it cannot be a profitable trading strategy, I am just confirming that I have not used it extensively so to know if it is effective or not.
